Rasmee Wayrana or Pang is a rising singer and songwriter from Ubon Ratchathani. Her singing style is fascinating; it drowns out all the other sounds, stops any sense of movement and touches every single heart. Currently living in the city of Chiang Mai, she sings her signature Molam style in beautiful soulful melodies, and sometimes even collaborates with other bands such as French band Poni Hoax and Limousine, Israeli-Thai band Bamako Express, Srirajah Rockers, and The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band. She gives such unique performances, so try closing your eyes! Before you know it, you will know what it feels like to be eating Spicy Thai Duck Salad on Champs-Élysées street!
– Trained by her father, the owner of Jreang Band (Khmer traditional folk music). She began singing for the frst time at the age of three and started her own band when she was just 13 years old.
– Rasmee named her signature singing style “Isan Soul”
– For Rasmee, the word “soul” has a much deeper meaning than just soulful singing techniques; it is the Isan spirit, and it is her Isan roots.
– She took home a total of three 13th Komchadluek awards including Best Female Artist, Best Album Isan Soul EP, and Best Song Maya.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBangkok, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBangkok event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
