Do not be surprised if in the near future, someone stands up and declares that there is a device that warns drivers if an accidental sleep is near, merely by the detection of brain signals. Do not be surprised if soon, those affected with severe paralysis will be able to move by ordering a wheelchair to do it for them with one quick thought. Do not be surprised because these things are already emerging – and it’s all thanks to Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat! An expert in biomedical engineering with a PhD., Dr. Yodchanan combines immense knowledge, advance technology, and engineering skills to create masterpieces. These are new inventions that will change people’s lives. Forever.
– Earned his PhD. in Brain-Computer Interface from the University of Texas.
– Leader of the Brain-Computer Interface Lab! at Mahidol University.
– Spent over ten years working with alumni as well as new students to create a device that is able to invent a wheelchair and electrical instrument controller with brainwave for hemiplegic patients and cognitive stimulation and evaluation device.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBangkok, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBangkok event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
